We love children and plan many ministries to teach them about God and His church. Our Children's workers are especially gifted, dedicated and experienced. Be assurred that your child is important to us and a safe space is provided for them. In addition, each childcare worker is required to undergo a rigorous criminal background check. Recognizing that parents are the primary example and teachers of their children, we strive to assist families in that effort while under our watchcare. Our motto is: Connecting Church, Family & Home. So that you, the parent, may be better informed we provide the following on-going activities. Other developing ministries will be added at a later time, so keep checking back.
Sundays:
9:45 AM -- Sunday School for all age groups. Babies and Toddlers (Birth through 3 years old)
Preschool (4-5 year olds)
Grades 1-2
Grades 3-5
Grades 6-8
11:00 AM -- Children's Sermon and Children's Worship. During the traditional worship service, children ages 4 through sixth grade will be given an invitation to sit at the front of the church for a "Children's Sermon." Afterward, the younger children (ages 4 through the second grade) will be dismissed to another location for Children's Worship. Parents may pick up their children at the 1st and 2nd grade classroom.

During the Year
Soup-er Bowl Lunch, February
Each year after worship service, the congregation is invited to participate in a soup luncheon. 10 or 12 home made and delicious varieties of soup are offered. Donations are accepted to benefit the Havelock Food Pantry (Outreach Ministries, Suite #20, Professional Center, East Plaza). Traditionally, this event is held on the day in which the NFL superbowl is played.
Sweetheart Banquet, February
Around Valentine's Day, the older children and youth of the church co-host this gala event for couples. A selection of full course meals are provided and served in a unique and romantic setting. Child care is also offered at no cost. Donations are accepted and will benefit a ministry as announced.
Easter Egg Hunt, March or April
After the 11:00 AM worship service, children up to 12 years old will assemble for a traditional egg hunt. Start your Easter tradition with this event, then the afternoon and evening is yours to enjoy family, friends, food and remembering the new life that Christ gives!
Vacation Bible School, June
The theme for this year's VBS was "Big Apple Adventure"; the adventure started in June with a meal for all the children and a snack later in the evening. Then the kids rotated to different locations in the church and participated in activities that taught about Jesus. On Saturday following the week of VBS, a "Parents Night" was scheduled and the children were able to show their parents what they learned.
SummerFest
This yearly one-day event included fun activities for all ages, even parents! We all enjoyed free pizza, games for the kids, movies and more!
Children's Christmas Craft Day- first Saturday in December
Our children look forward to this time each year to make crafts and ornaments for the Chistmas season. Parents look forward to this time also so that they can have time to shop or just relax for four hours during the day. Oh, and lunch is provided for the kids, too! Check out the calendar for dates and times.
December, Children's Pageant
The exact date is not set yet, but the Children will start practicing for this event in early November. Depending on the leader, the Pageant may include a children's choral presentation or a play. Please look for date and times as we approach the month.
Fall Festival, October 30
Fall Festival. This is a great time for families and especially the children to dress up in costumes and enjoy the food, fun and fellowship. Activities include costume judging, games and hay rides. The evening ends in a "Trunk-or-Treat" activity.
Back-to-School Bash, August 20
This brotherhood sponsored activity is very much family orientated. Air filled bouncing games and other activities fill this day with fair-like events and games. Everything is free, including the hot dogs and watermelon!

CiA is a weekly ministry that teaches children (K-5th Grade) about missions endeavors all over the world. Every week new and fun activities help boys and girls learn about how God cares for people and how they can help. Michelle Gray is the Director for this ministry.
