MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

OUTREACH MINISTRIES

C.A.R.E. (Christians Actively Reaching Everyone)- This is a ministry opportunity that allows volunteers to use your God given gifts to communicate God's love to the church family and community. Team members send notecards, complete chores for disabled, deliver gift bags to new people in the community and first time visitors, uplift in prayer, deliver cheer bags, assemble and ship care packages to deployed military, and so much more. Joining a C.A.R.E. team requires a personal commitment of just 1 hour per month . There are 4 C.A.R.E. teams. One team meets in the Annex building each Wednesday at 5:30 pm for a meal together and then they tackle the ministry needs and requests received that week. For more information on this meaningful ministry, please contact the church office at 447-5462 or email office@cherrypointbaptist.com

Rolling Wheels Ministry - This is a new ministry that will allow us to reach out to members of the community who need transportation assistance for doctor's appointments, church, groceries, etc. If you would like to be involved in this meaningful ministry and add your name to the list of volunteer drivers, or if you know of someone who is in need of assistance with transportation, please contact the church office at 447-5462.

Small Groups Ministry

Exciting things are happening within the Small Groups Ministry. At the last church conference we unanimously voted to officially adopt the small group ministry in place and to persue the addition of more. Also, the church voted to place Jean Nast as the very first Director of the Small Groups Ministry. Jean certainly has the creditials to do a good job: not only does she possess the heart and spirit for small groups, but she has the experience of hosting and leading two groups from her home. She has also completed the course taken from Bill Donovan's book, Leading Life-Changing Small Groups.

For those who are not familiar with the Small Groups Ministry, let me offer this short description. First of all, a small group that meets in someone's home is not a new concept; the early Christians did the same. It is a contemporary idea, too! Many churches, in fact, do not have a "worship center" building, instead they are a church of small groups! Small groups is a way that new Christians, maturing Christians, and even seekers can meet, find instant acceptance and in an informal way learn about their faith, fellowship and explore ministry opportunities. It is a great encouragement to belong to a smaller group of Christians.

Call Jean Nast if you have a desire to learn more, get plugged into a group or you would like to host or lead a group in your home. Or you can call the church office (447-5462) or office@cherrypointbaptist.com. You won't be sorry!!!!
