Page 5, Child Protection Policy
As Ministries Director, I have been given the responsibility for developing and implementing a child protection policy for our church. CPBC is now in compliance with established "norms" for protecting our children and our church via our "Child Protection Policy". Essentially, it provides standards and guidelines for children and youth ministry workers and also requires an approved criminal and social background check for each child care worker, whether a paid staff member or volunteer.
Periodically, an updated "Approved Children Workers" list is posted in the children's department, the latest has been posted on 1/22/2010. A brief summary of the guidelines are below. The full policy details are available in the church office or by calling 252-447-5462.
Please remember that a satisfactory background check is required BEFORE being assigned to work with child at Cherry Point Baptist Church.
