PASTOR

Pastor Rob Helton and his wife Cindy have been a part of the Cherry Point Baptist Church family since December 1999. They have a son and daughter and three grandsons. Pastor Rob grew up on a small farm in Lincoln County, NC where he developed not only a passion for fly fishing, but a strong desire to reach out to people in the community. He earned his Master of Divinity from Gardner-Webb University in 1998, and in 2006 received his Doctorate in Ministry through Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

CHURCH AND COMMUNITY MINISTRIES DIRECTOR

Rev. Ed Satterley is currently serving on staff as Church and Community Ministries Director. Ed graduated from Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC, with a degree in Christian Ministries. He is responsible for working with the Pastor to develop, implement and maintain ministries to the church and community. His wife, Cathy, and he moved to the area in 1989. Ed has served churches in our associational area as pastor, interim and supply pastor, and also has held several associational positions. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Ed & Cathy enjoy traveling, home improvement and exploring local restaurants. Cathy also enjoys scrapbooking and collecting and reading books by LeVerle Spencer and Jennifer Blake. Ed enjoys woodworking and working around the yard when he has time.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CENTER (CEC) DIRECTOR

As CEC Director, Rev. Ed Satterley coordinates and plans a variety of Christian Education courses that are offered for all ages throughout the year. Be sure to check the Christian Education Section for course updates. Email: ed@cherrypointbaptist.com

C.A.R.E. MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Mrs. Gwen Sykes keeps the C.A.R.E. Ministry organized and coordinates each weekly team's activities.

CHAIRMAN OF DIRECTORS

Mr. Ted Bird is serving as Chairman of Directors and also serves on the Stewardship Committee.

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE

Mrs. Judy Bird serves on the Personnel Committee. Ted and Judy are also assistant leaders of Hamilton Sunday School class.

TREASURER

Mr. Bob Sabdo currently serves as Church Treasurer.

CHILDREN'S GROUP LEADER

Mrs. Jennifer Sabdo leads the children's group on Sunday evenings and also serves as Vacation Bible School director.

SECRETARY

CHOIR DIRECTOR/SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER

Mrs. Barbara Diederich faithfully serves as Choir Director during the Traditional Worship service on Sunday morning. In addition, she is the leader of the 6, 7, and 8 grade Sunday School class.
