Frequently Asked Questions  (FAQ)
What should I expect?
CPBC is a place of worship, growth, and opportunity. Our services appeal to individuals of all ages, providing occasions for involvement and service for many different backgrounds and interests. We believe that God made everyone with unique abilities, and there is a place for everyone to glorify Him within the church. We are looking for co-laborers to help us “Share the Light of God’s Love” with our community.   Our staff is available throughout the week, and we would love to meet with you to assist in getting connected.  Just call 252-447-5482 to be sure we are here and then drop by.  The office is open regularly Monday through Friday from 9am until 2pm.  However, appointments can be made anytime at your convenience.

What should I wear?

You’ll see people in jeans and t-shirts and others in coats and ties. So, it’s up to you to dress in anything you feel comfortable wearing.  We’re more concerned with getting to know you, than what you wear!

How do I get connected?
There are many opportunities for all ages, so please feel free to explore our various ministries to find a specific age group or activity that most fits your needs or interests.

Our website has an updated list of current projects and upcoming events. Please take a look or pick-up one of our flyers to review.  You may prefer to speak with one of our ushers or staff members for more information.

What does CPBC have for my family?
Family is a very high priority at our church, and we have classes and activities for each as a whole and as individual members.

CPBC takes great care in making sure that our little ones are growing up with a strong faith in Jesus Christ through various events such as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and through our Children’s Church.  It’s a great time for them and we have committed volunteers to guide your children.
The Middle School and High School Ministry have opportunities through Sunday School and our Sunday evening Youth Activities.  In addition, our Youth are involved in our mission ministries.  This church also partners with our Association to provide annual opportunities for our youth to attend camps and youth rallies.

What affiliations do you have with other churches or ministries?
CPBC is a Southern Baptist Church and associated with the Atlantic Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist Convention.   However, we are autonomous and our affiliations are voluntary.  CPBC is a mission church.   We believe in and support local and global missions.    In fact, more than 11% of our total tithes and offerings support missions.

Our local missions are either generated through our membership or taken on in partnership with our local association.  We participate in global missions primarily through the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program supporting thousands of missionaries in the continental United States and in foreign countries world-wide.  Our mission dollars support more than 11,000 missionaries.  Our mission program established more than 25,000 new churches and led more than 600,000 people to Christ last year.  In addition to our partnerships above, CPBC also partners with a church in Malawi.  We assisted in building a new worship center and have sent supplies on a regular basis.  It has been great seeing this new work flourish.

Any other questions?  Please feel free to call our church office at 252-447-5462 or call Pastor Steve at 252 876 2882.  Or send an email to:
office@cherrypointbaptist.com or PastorSteve@cherrypointbaptist.com.  Whether you plan to join us for the 8:30 am contemporary or the 11:00 am traditional service, you can expect a relaxed, friendly worship environment.  We invite you to fill out a guest card that is attached to the bulletin, which can be dropped in the offering plate as it is passed by.  Please sit back and enjoy your time of worship- guests are not pointed out or asked to stand up and introduce themselves.  If you fill out a guest card and live locally, a member of our C.A.R.E. team will deliver a gift bag to your doorstep.  We look forward to meeting you!

At The Bridge, worship time has a casual and informal setting where people can meet new friends, worship, and learn what it means to follow Christ.  Loaves & Fishes Ministry provides a warm meal to those in need in the local area on Tuesdays at 6 pm.  Please visit The Bridge to learn more about this exciting new ministry and how you can help!
