On these two sites you will find opinions and comments about sacred and secular things. So far, we have experienced a safe envioronment and very good feedback. Go a bit further and click on the Cherry Point Baptist icon to join the church site. In this site you can talk with other church members about church related things, get updates on things that are going around and just spout off about a myriad of subjects. We hope to see you there.

BUILDING PLANS
It is the goal of the Building Committee to come up with a building plan that can serve a variety of ministry needs as well as a place to hold large fellowship gatherings. (We Baptists love to eat!) The committee is essentially done working on plans and engineers are fine tuning drawings in hopes of obtaining of building permits soon. Some revisions have been made to the following drawings, but here's the rough plan...
- a 78'x44' Fellowship Hall addition will be added to the far right end of facility (12'x44' section will be used as storage area)- 2,800 sq ft will seat over 200 people at rectangular tables
- plans include the addition of a new 20'x16' kitchen and 9'x16' pantry
- leave the existing Fellowship Hall intact- to be available for smaller functions, overflow, and allow ministry activities to take place simulaneously in both spaces
- air handler units in existing utility room will be relocated to existing bathroom location
- wall between utility room and nursery will be removed allowing nursery space to be greatly increased
- two new handicapped bathrooms will be added- each will have two commodes
- Fellowship Hall addition will project forward 8 feet allowing side door access from existing sidewalk and increase accessibility to carport being added to the front of building.
- Total estimated cost (including construction, furnishings, landcaping) is approximately 500,000
THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Some folks have asked, "What's happening with the After-School Program?" Most of the preliminary work has been accomplished. This includes the research, policy manual, job descriptions, letter to parents, tentative activity schedules, use of existing facilities, and short range planning (especially for outside activities). Several folks have donated activity equipment and volunteered to help in different ways. The only thing we have not been able to accomplish is to recruit a permanent staff and an After-School Program Director. The idea is still open and it is part of our church's vision statement.
